Our preschool spans two rooms, 2 gardens, and the local meadows and play park. Our rooms are bright, cheerful, and stimulating, offering child care in a caring environment for preschool activities where we can maintain a broad and balanced atmosphere of learning through play.
Passionate about children's learning, at Crondall Preschool we provide exceptional childcare through exciting learning activities, tailored to each age group.
We value children's learning, supporting their development not only in our beautiful indoor setting but by providing an array of learning opportunities using our wonderful gardens, Hook Meadow, and woodland locations in the village.
Embracing the "Forest School" ethos, we encourage independence, investigation, and curiosity. Children develop to become competent and more self-sufficient learners, whilst learning to love and appreciate the natural world.
Our beautiful outside classrooms are securely fenced and a stone's throw away from the outside playground in Hook Meadow which we also use regularly.
The outside areas are set up differently each day to complement the children's natural desire to explore different equipment. One day it may be a construction site using the sandpits and bricks and the next a cafe with mud pies being made in the mud kitchens!
The larger area also houses our vegetable patch which the children tend to each day. So far we have grown new potatoes, lettuce, carrots, and marrows amongst other things!
All of our produce is used during snack and meal times so the children can taste what they have grown!
Children at Crondall Preschool start joining in with all our sessions as soon as they join the Preschool. From the age of 1 and upwards, records of their progress are updated regularly and available to parents.
We provide, along with the EYFS as standard, a child-led curriculum that is inspired by all our various methods that each team member brings.
All our staff are handpicked because of their extra knowledge, experience, and passion and this enables the children to be encouraged through a variety of activities including and based around various methods and influences in childcare: see below the five other main influences complementing the EYFS.
to develop an awareness of the multicultural world in which we live.
to develop control and coordination of movement and encourage independence
to encourage pre-reading and writing skills.
to enhance their five senses, laying the foundation for early reading, writing and mathematical skills.
to develop an understanding of the concept of numbers.
